As my country's manufacturing industry continues to grow
Electronic equipment has also spread to all parts of the world
However, market access regulations vary from country to country.
in order to enter these countries
Most electrical appliances need to meet various regulatory standards
This feels very cumbersome and difficult
However,There is a convenient and effective method
These trade barriers can be overcome
That is IECEE CB certification
The "master key" to eliminate trade barriers - IECEE CB certification

What is CB certification?
The CB system (IEC system for electrical product qualification testing and certification) is an international system operated by IECEE. IECEE is the abbreviation of the International Electrotechnical Commission Electrical Product Qualification Testing and Certification Organization. The certification bodies of IECEE member countries test the safety performance of electrical products based on IEC standards, and the test results, namely CB test reports and CB test certificates, are mutually recognized by IECEE member countries. The purpose is to reduce international trade barriers that arise from having to meet different national certification or approval guidelines.

Advantages of CB certification
⭕ 可以转换国外认证证书
If you have obtained the CB test certificate and CB test report, you can directly apply for certification certificates from other countries. The certification body of the country being applied for will review the CB test certificates and reports (including reports on national differences) (a small number of samples will be provided if necessary). If the review results are qualified, the country's certification can be obtained without the need to follow the requirements of the country being applied for. Additional tests are subject to the country's constitution and rules of procedure.
Therefore, these certification applications based on CB test certificates and CB test reports will be processed with priority than other certification applications, and the application cycle and application fees will be reduced.
⭕ Can convert Chinese national certification certificate
⭕ Directly recognized or approved by other countries
With CB test certificate and CB test report, products can be exported directly to certain countries.
⭕ Save money and time
If a domestic enterprise applies for a CB test certificate domestically before applying for foreign certification, since the test is conducted in a domestic CB testing laboratory, it not only saves a lot of costs, but also saves the turnaround time for sample delivery and document delivery. Domestic Enterprises can obtain CB test certificates as soon as possible.
⭕ Increase the certainty that the product will pass the test
If an enterprise has obtained a CB test certificate and all or most of the CB test results are recognized when applying for certification in other countries, it can avoid or reduce the need to send samples for testing, which also saves time and cost; more importantly, the products applying for certification CB testing has been done in China, which increases the certainty that the product will pass the difference test.
What are the member countries of the CB certification system?
The CB system currently has 54 member countries, including major economies around the world, and a total of 92 National Certification Bodies (NCBs).
(China, Australia, South Korea, Japan, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, the United States, Brazil, Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, etc.)
How to apply for CB certification
Regarding the application for CB test certificate, the following points should be noted:
●The application for a CB test certificate can be submitted by the applicant to any "certification/accreditation" NCB covering the product range;
●
The applicant can be either a manufacturer or an entity authorized to represent the manufacturer;
●
Applications may include one or more facilities in one or more countries that produce the product.
●
Applicants/manufacturers/factories located in countries without IECEE member institutions need to pay an additional fee of 150 Swiss francs for each CB test certificate to compensate for the operating costs of the system. This fee is charged by the NCB that accepts CB testing. It will be credited to IECEE's account.
●
Applicants can request NCB to test products based on national differences in the country where the product is sold.
The following procedures are included for manufacturers to obtain product certification for target markets:
●
Submit application to NCB of target country
● CB test certificate;
●
CB test report (can include national differences);
●
Provide product samples to the NCB of the target market when requested;
The purpose of requesting samples is to confirm that the product is consistent with the product originally issued by the NCB test and that national differences have been covered.
Country differences:
National differences are the differences between a certain country's standards or regulations and the corresponding international standards. National differences of all countries that join the CB system are submitted to the IECEE Secretariat and published in the CB Bulletin.
Common testing standards for CB certification
●
IEC60950 standard, applicable products: mobile power supply, wireless charger, earphones, data cable;
● IEC62133 standard, applicable products: battery packs, batteries, cells;
● IEC62368 standard, applicable products: audio and video, information technology products.
CB certification mark requirements
There are currently no mandatory labeling requirements for CB certification, but consumer electronics products need to meet the labeling requirements of the corresponding IEC standards when applying for CB certification.
IECEE has also issued guidelines for the use of the IECEE Logo, allowing CB certified manufacturers to use the IECEE Logo on websites and brochures, but not on products or their packaging.
As shown below, the IECEE Logo must contain two parts, which can display the IECEE brand and indicate the relationship between IECEE and IEC.

The difference between CB certification and CE certification
CB certification
CB certification is only for sample testing. If you are converting foreign certification marks, factory inspections are required. The CB certificate must be presented together with the CB test report to be valid. When applying for a CB certificate, applicants should first explain to CQC and CBTL the country/region they wish to export to, so that the certification body can help understand the differences in standards in that country, arrange difference experiments in a timely manner, and avoid applicants having to go to foreign certification bodies/tests. Institutions have to do additional experiments when applying, delaying the accreditation process and investing more money. CB certification is applicable to member countries of the CB system, covering developed countries and most developing countries around the world.。
CE certification
The CE mark is applicable to 28 European countries including the European Union. CB certification only covers safety requirements. Even if CB certification includes EU differences, if the product is also covered by other EU directives (such as electromagnetic compatibility EMC, machinery directives, etc.), its CB certification cannot indicate that it complies with the CE mark. Requirements can only indicate that the product has complied with the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive (LVD) of the CE mark. The CE mark cannot yet be affixed to the product. Relevant electromagnetic compatibility EMC and other tests must be supplemented.。
